Medical Student (FLEX Project)

Andrew Loe is a medical student at the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program in Victoria, BC. Originally from Okotoks, Alberta, Andrew has called Victoria home for the past six years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Music from the University of Victoria. Prior to medical school, he worked in a DNA repair lab investigating how RNA modifications modulate genome stability, specifically through the protein Cbf5. Additionally, he worked in an AI cardiology lab focusing on harnessing machine learning for CMR workflows and clinical translation. Outside of his studies, Andrew continues his music education through UVic, enjoys weightlifting, and is an avid chess player.
